Pickled Red Onion

My family is a big fan of things all pickled! When I came across this recipe, I knew I had to try it. We tried it, and we love it!

We love adding it to our cold sandwiches. It is so good! But don’t stop there! Try it in your paninis. You will absolutely love it!

I doubled the original recipe that was posted by @wildblossomshomestead on Instagram.

Ingredients:

  • 2 medium size red onions or 1 large one
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 cup vinegar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tsp salt
  • quart jar

Instructions:

  1. Cut the red onion into thin slices and place them into the prepared jar.

2. Combine sugar, vinegar, water, and salt in a small saucepan. Bring it to a boil. Simmer until sugar is dissolved.

3. Pour it over the onions and let it cool to room temperature. After putting the lid on, place the jar in the fridge. The original recipe states that you can keep it in the fridge for up to a month.

Happy pickling!
