If you ever decide on visiting the Amish Country in the beautiful state of Ohio, this post is for you. Or if you want to see more photos from our recent trip there, this post is for you too. 🙂
Our main reason of traveling to Ohio was visiting the ERCN Annual Conference at Eagle Rock Church. Since we are already making a trip there why not to add a day or two and visit nearby places of interest.
I really wanted to visit Amish country again and do some antique shopping since I didn’t have time to do it last time we were there.
We were able to spend the whole day in Amish country with our friends. The weather was perfect!

Our first stop was a cute little market stand outside of Sugarcreek.

I was able to explore a small antique shop in Sugarcreek. I got few things there including my longtime dream flat gathering basket! They had so many awesome things that I would buy, but there was no way to take them home.

The lady at the shop said that she has customers from California who come to shop there and then rent a truck to take it all back home. Maybe we should all do a collective antique shopping trip there and then do the same? 🙂
Our next stop was Berlin. Their antique mall was a bit overpriced.

We asked locals for a place to eat in the area. We were suggested to go to Mt. Hope and eat at Mrs. Yoser’s.

I chose very comforting food and did not regret it. Fried lake fish with mashed potatoes and gravy.

Another stop was – Walnut Creek Cheese

On Saturday, after the conference, we decided to visit few more antique shops in the Columbus area.
It was beautiful rainy morning. I can say beautiful rainy morning because I am from California where we don’t see rain for quite a long time.

I really enjoyed breakfast at First Watch. Highly recommend it. That’s the place pastor was talking about last Sunday 🙂

During this trip we were able to visit a cute antique shop in the owner’s barn in their backyard, small antique shops, big antique malls, and an Amish thrift shop. I enjoyed them all.

I had a few things I wanted to find on this trip. My goal was to get a few jade dishes and a butter mold press. I wasn’t able to find any jade pieces but found one affordable butter mold press! I say affordable because they can be quite expensive.

Overall, it was a great trip! We had a great time with old friends, made new ones, explored and traveled a bit, and even brought something special home.

It was fun to travel back home with my new basket. The flight attendant on the first flight said that he never saw anyone on a plane with a basket 🙂 My girls said, “Only mama.”
